Dr. Anne Snowdon is a Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. Dr. Snowdon is leading a national community of practice and research program focused on the capacity of health supply chain to enable health system responses to the COVID-19 pandemic in seven Canadian provinces. This work builds on a well-established program of research focused on healthcare supply chain, and health system innovation to achieve sustainability, economic value and productivity by providing support for innovators and entrepreneurs to successfully bring their discoveries to the Canadian, U.S. and world markets.
Currently, Dr. Snowdon is the Scientific Director and CEO for SCAN Health, Chief Scientific Research Officer for HIMSS, member of the Health Futures Council of Arizona State University, and former Vice Chair of the Board of the Directors for Alberta Innovates. She is an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Windsor, the School of Nursing at Dalhousie University and the Centre for Innovative Medical Technology at the University of Southern Denmark.
Dr. Snowdon has published more than 150 research articles, papers and cases, has received over $25 million in research funding, holds patents and has commercialized a highly successful booster seat product for children traveling in vehicles, and is a Fulbright Scholar. She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan, MSc from McGill University, and BScN from Western University.
Lori Turik is responsible for establishing the strategic, operational and financial management of the Supply Chain Advancement Network in Health (SCAN Health). She has extensive background providing strategic, business development, government and stakeholder relations and communications advice to public and private sector clients. Her clients included the pharmaceutical industry, health care providers, not-for-profit associations and private businesses. Lori is the former Executive Director of the World Health Innovation Network and Ivey International Centre of Health Innovation where she led the successful development and services. Lori served as Senior Vice President Government and Industry Relations at GS1 Canada, Vice President Public Policy for the Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores, Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Health, Province of Ontario and as Director of Public Health Nursing Services, North York. Lori held appointments and guest lectured at the University of Toronto and York University. She holds a Masters in Public Administration from Queens University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lakehead University. Lori is honoured to serve as a member of the Canadian Nurses Foundation Board of Directors and as a past member of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research Board of Governors, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Ontario Board of Directors and numerous other boards and government committees.
Dr. Michael Saunders is Senior Research Associate at SCAN Health. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from Kingston University London and was a previously a postdoctoral fellow on a CIHR-funded, SCAN Health-led investigation into provincial health supply chain capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is particularly interested in the moral considerations that arise in health supply chain management and in the movement from an “economy of profit” to an “economy of needs” in health supply management.
Dr. Alexandra Wright is currently adjunct faculty at the University of Toronto and is Director, Research at SCAN Health, where she supports the research program of the SCAN Health Community of Practice. Currently, Dr. Wright is the Director of Research at HIMSS at the Office of Scientific Research, where she researches health system change and digital health transformation. Dr. Wright has published over 20 articles and papers in the fields of healthcare supply chain and public health. She specializes in learning from crisis, health system resilience and digital transformation. Dr. Wright earned her PhD at the University of Toronto and has a master’s in public administration from Queen’s University.
Richard Nguyen is a project and event management professional who has worked primarily in the higher education and healthcare space. He has previously held roles at the University of Waterloo, Hospice Palliative Care Ontario and the University of Toronto. Richard is a graduate of the University of Waterloo where he obtained his Bachelor of Science with a minor in Psychology. He has also completed a certificate in Project Management and is currently working on a certificate in Digital Strategy and Communications Management. He is passionate about working with all kinds of people to help build, educate and connect communities.
Cindy Ly is a Research Analyst at SCAN Health. She has a Master of Arts in Applied Social Psychology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Windsor. At SCAN Health, Cindy is seeking opportunities to create a clinically integrated healthcare supply chain that strives to establish positive work environments for healthcare workers and optimize safe care delivery for patients.
Tim Storey is an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in mathematics and statistics at the University of Windsor. Joining the SCAN Health as a Research Analyst, Tim is excited to apply his classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. Armed with a strong foundation in statistical analysis, he will be dedicating his efforts to studying the cost of hospital-acquired infections. Inspired by the chance to make a genuine impact, Tim is eager to contribute to the team's mission of enhancing healthcare outcomes and ensuring a safer environment for patients.
Reighan Dales is a Research Analyst for SCAN Health. She is currently working on her undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor, majoring in Mathematics and Statistics. As a student, Reighan is excited to see how statistics can be used in a hands-on experience and to be able to utilize what she has learned to aid in real life issues. She also is extremely interested in how statistics can impact health and provide safer care for Canadians. Committed to SCAN Health’s vision and mission, Reighan is thrilled to make a positive change for our healthcare system.
